Reservation for women in govt jobs
Bhopal, July 30: Madhya Pradesh BJP Vice-President and MP Maya Singh today asserted that role of women must be defined at all levels of decision making in the government and society under the proposed women's policy.
Ms Singh, while addressing the Mahila Panchayat, said a provision for reservation for women must be made in government jobs on the lines of women's reservation in Panchayat and civic bodies.
She felt that opportunities must be provided to women in media, information technology and management sectors.
Lauding efforts of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for uplifting women, Ms Singh said it appeared that the slogan 'mahila ka utthan' would not remain a mere slogan.
Several schemes had been launched for health, employment and education of women besides developing leadership quality in them.
The Mahila Panchayat was organised to invite suggestions from women representatives regarding new schemes of the Women and Child Welfare Department. Several proposals had come forward. Mr Chouhan participated in the programme.
