Political parties starts pre-election exercise from Kanpur

Kanpur, July 30 (UNI) The main political parties of Uttar Pradesh, including ruling Samajavdi Party have virtually started their pre-election exercise to generate election fever for the assembly elections, scheduled to be held in February next year.

The Congress, ruling Samajvadi Party, Bhartiya Janata Party and Bahujan Samaj Party with their election allies have started their undeclared campaign from industrial city of Kanpur, as according to their leaders, the city is represented by people from all corners of the state.

While ruling party was criticising the UPA government for denying the financial assistance and sufficient power, the other opposition parties were criticising the state government for the breakdown of law and order mahinery in the state. The BJP and the Congress were bitter on the ruling party on the issue of SIMI and increased terrorist activities. The state government has already accepted that at least 34 districts of Uttar Pradesh out of 70 districts, where terrorist activites have increased as government refrained from taking actions against these organisations.

The BJP state unit President Kesharinath Tripathi and number of their leaders were participating in different programmes opposing the state government's ''misrule'' and holding the SP supremo as true follower of appeasement policy to encash minority votes.

National and state level leaders of Congress were exposing the government from public platform but supporting the government from outside.
