Mettur water level 109.100 ft, inflow up
Tiruchirapalli, July 30 (UNI) Authorities reported a sudden increase in the inflow into the Stanley Reservoir at Mettur across River Cauvery this morning.
State PWD sources said this morning the reservoir received 15,070 cusecs as compared to yesterday's 8,154 cusecs. The water level stood at 109.100 feet as against the dam's capacity of 120 feet.
The discharge was maitained at 22,000 cusecs.
From the Grand Anaicut in Thanjavur District, about 5,228 cusecs of water was discharged into River Cauvery, 8,325 cusecs into Vennar, 3,004 cusecs into Grand Anaicut Canal and 1,501 cusecs into the Coleroon River for irrigation purposes.
