MCA-21 launched in Kolkata
Kolkata, Jul 30 (UNI) India's largest e-governance initiative by Ministry of Company Affairs and a Mission Mode project under Government of India's National e-Governance Plan was launched here today.
Launching the e-governance initiative, company affairs minister Prem Chand Gupta said, "Kolkata now joins the elite group of 18 centers, wherein MCA 21 has already been successfully implemented, including New Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Patna, Kanpur, Bangalore, Ahemdabad and Hyderabad." Mr Gupta said, "The MCA-21 project is the largest full-scale deployment of Information Technology in the Government of India in the shortest possible time frame and will revolutionize the way India Inc. interfaces with the government." He added "The MCA-21 program will bring about a service transformation in terms of ease of use and is slated to be a benchmark e-governance project in the country." The MCA-21 initiative is a flagship program being executed by the Ministry of Company Affairs in partnership with Tata Consultancy Services Limited on a PPP (Public Private Partnership) Model.
Under the program framework, TCS is responsible for designing and implementing the program, owning, operating and maintaining the system for a period of six years after successful roll out at all sites.
Joint Secretary for Minister of Company Affairs Y S Malik said, "The MCA-21 project aims to bring speed, transparecy and efficiency in the delivery of the services rendered by the Ministry of Company Affairs to all the stakeholders through a set of pre-defined service levels." UNI TJP JYN DB1728
