Madhur Bhandarkar launches his production company with PPC

Mumbai, July 30 (UNI) National awardee and noted film maker Madhur Bhandarkar last evening announced the launch of his production company named, 'Madhur Bhandarkar Motion Pictures Ltd as part of a joint venutre with Percept Picture Company (PPC) here.

The tie-up between PPC and Madhur Bhandarkar Motion Pictures Ltd is tuned up to an investment of Rs 150 crore to produce cutting edge entertainment content.

Speaking on the occassion, a nostalgic Bhandarkar recalled his journey from a video cassette vendor in his earlier days to a film maker of repute ''as a long sweet journey with numerous ups and downs''.

Using the opportunity, he thanked fans and members of the film fraternity, particularly actor Tabu and R R Mohan for their faith and unhindered support after the first debacle with 'Trishakti' the first film of Bhandarkar, which flopped miserably.

Taking a dig on himself, Bhandarkar opined that he is a experimental filmaker, but with a penchant of delivering films with high commercial rate of success.

PPC's Joint Managing Director Shailendra Singh stated that the company would provide its management expertise in operating the 'Joint Venture' company and also for producing feature films.

He added that the new tie-up will identify scripts and produce feature films that will be either directed by Bhandarkar himself or under his creative supervision.

In addition, PPC would also bring in their significant expertise in marketing and distributing of motion picture to the 'Joint Venture', Singh further added.

Commenting on the development PPC's COO Mahesh Ramanathan added that the 'Joint Venture' with the newly formed Madhur Bhandarkar Motion Pictures Ltd is a mile stone for PPC and its prospects.

He stated that with back-to-back hits Bandarkar has established himself as one of India's most talented film makers and as a result PPC is proud to be a part of the tie-up with Bandarkar.
