IIT Kharagpur submits report on biotech park

Kolkata, Jul 30 (UNI) Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), (Kharagpur) has submitted a feasibility report to the West Bengal government on the proposed biotech park at Kharagpur.

" We have already identified 1200 acre of land at Kharagpur and acquisition of land will start shortly, " state Health Minister Suryakanta Mishra told reporters here.

" The state government is looking for a strategic partner for the project, " he said in the sidelines of a programme on the Biotech industry by the Bharat Chamber of Commerce.

The state government is updating the biotech policy of the state for attracting more investment, he said.

State IT and Biotechnology Secretary Siddharth said the state had formed a joint working group with experts of European Union for development of the sector and attracting investments in the sector.
