IFSMN criticises Govt's new advertisement policy
New Delhi, July 30: The Indian Federation of Small and Medium Newspapers (IFSMN) today criticised the Centre's new Advertisement Policy.
The members urged Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunshi to reconsider the policy to protect the interests of small and medium newspapers which were already facing innumerable difficulties due to emergence of the electronic media, a release said here.
In another resolution, the IFSMN also protested against the proposed changes in the Right to Information Act, 2005 by the Government, saying this amounts to trampling upon the basic rights of the people to know.
Members also demanded immediate end of alleged 'Inspector Raj' at RNI office, IFSMN president Pushpa Pandeya said in the statement.
