Four drowned in Ganga when a boat capsized

Munger, July 30 (UNI) At least four people were feared drowned in river Ganga when a boat ferrying them capsized near Pharta village under Muffasil police station here today.

Police said that around 30 villagers on their way to Diara area for collecting fodder, met with the accident when the boat capsized due to a strong river current.

One woman who safely swam to the bank was rushed to the Sadar hospital for treatment, police added.

Senior administrative officers have rushed to the spot and efforts were on to rescue the survivors and fish out the bodies, police said.
