City within a city proposed in Patna
Patna, July 30 (UNI) Bihar government is contemplating to develop Gardanibagh area of the state capital into a township equipped with world class modern facilties including hospitals, multiplex, luxury hotels and illuminated thoroughfares.
Bihar deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi convened a high level meeting on Saturday to discuss the action plan in this regard, which was attended by Housing minister Monazir Hasan and local MLA Arun Kumar besides senior officials of state government.
The action plan envisages construction of luxury hotels on 10 acres of the land while 17.51 acres are earmarked for hospitals and motels. Mutiplex equipped with all modern facilities would be raised in 205 acres while residential complex would be constructed in 45 acres of the area, an official release said.
The proposed township area spread over in 270 acres would have world class entertainment facilities, health care centres and modern residential complexes which would help in attracting investment in the state, the release claimed.
There are 788 government quarters in the area and most of them are in dilapidated conditions which would be demolished after providing alternative accomodation to the present occupants, the release said.
Mr Modi informed the meeting that a draft proposal would be sent to the chief minister for his consideration and work would be carried out on war footing after obtaining his nod.
