Bus services from Imphal to Guwahati resumed
Imphal, Jul 30 (UNI) Bus services from Imphal to Guwahati resumed here today after remaining suspended since July 24 following a strike.
The All Manipur Inter-State Bus Services had cancelled its services due to alleged demand of money by militants and check points at Nagaland.
A bus operator said there were about ten entry points at Nagaland and at each entry point the vehicles had to spend Rs 500 to Rs 1000 everyday, while in Manipur and Asom the vehicles were checked only once.
President of the bus services, Buddha Luwang, said the services were temporarily suspended for few days in public interest and would soon resume.
Besides these, large numbers of private vehicles and trucks also faced similar problems, the president of the services further added.
However, due to another strike no bus will ply tomorrow again, said Mr Luwang.
