BSF maintains high alert along Indo-Bangla border
Shillong, Jul 30: The Border Security Forces is still maintaining a ''high alert'' along the Indo-Bangla border after the Mumbai blast.
Border Security Force's (BSF) Inspector General of Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland (AMM&N) frontier Jyoti Prakash Sinha said frontier guards were directed to maintained a strict vigil in order to check the movement of any person along the porous border.
Meanwhile, the BSF yesterday recovered two IEDs planted by suspected MULTA militants from a playground at Tiyamari near Gouripur in Dhubri district of Asom.
In its press communique issued here, the BSF said that troops of 65 battalion defused two IEDs each weighing around 1 kg from the playground in a village in Dhubri district.
The IEDs with remote control devices were wrapped in a polythene sheets, the BSF said adding that the IEDs by MULTA terrorists were meant to sabotage the Independence Day celebrations in Dhubri area.
