Brother returns from Lebanon to see dead sister

Phagwara, July 30 (UNI) Rashpal Singh who returned home only yesterday from war torn Lebanon, was shocked to see the corpse of his elder sister Kulwinder lying in the verandah of his home in Jagatpur Jattan village.

His aged father Darshan Lal, standing besides the body of Kulwinder, did not know whether to embrace his son or to weep over the demise of his daughter.The father had been praying for the safe return of his son from Lebanon ever since Israeli war planes began impounding that country.

Kulwinder mother of a three-month-old son had been allegedly strangulated to death by her in-laws in Jamalpur colony in Ludhiana yesterday morning. She was tortured by her husband Sukhdev and her in-laws as she had failed to meet their dowry demand.

On the complaint of Rashpal, the Ludhiana police today registered a case against Sukhdev and his parents who had claimed before the cops that Kulwinder committed suicide. Intial inquiries by the police revealed that she had been strangulated to death.
