Assembly likely to discuss Kokapet land issue: Kumar Reddy

Hyderabad, July 30 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Government Chief Whip Kiran Kumar Reddy today found fault with opposition for criticising the government in connection with the auction of 70 acres of land at Kokapeta on the city outskirts.

Speaking to newspersons here, Mr Reddy said through the auction of the land at Kokapeta the government had added Rs 703 crore to its treasury.

"The auction amount include investments from others states to the tune of Rs 570 crore. Instead of appreciating the act of the state government, the Opposition was blaming the government as if the government had taken away land from farmers", he added.

He said the persons, who claimed of doing farming in the land did not posses any kind of document to substantiate their argument.

"Now the TDP leaders are finding fault with state government in connection with Kokapeta land", he added.

Mr Reddy said the Assembly would discuss the issue of land allotment to private parties during the previous TDP rule and present Congress government.

"If TDP does not bring the issue in the forthcoming Assembly session, the Congress would definitely bring it and would like to explain how the TDP gave away the government lands to private parties", he stressed.
