Antique quartet from BHU to embellish Australia

Varanasi, July 30 (UNI) Antiques from the ninth and tenth century comprising Goddess Durga painted in Tanjavur style, a painting in Malwa style depicting Putna's elimination by Lord Krishna, a rare Khaju and raho style idol of Shiva-Parvati are all set to travel to Australia for embellishing an International Art Expose.

The quartret will form part of a contingent of rare collections from India that will be showcased at the Exhibition in New South Wales during the second week of August, Assistant curator of Bharat Kala Bhawan in Banaras Hindu University R P Singh told UNI here today.

The contingent also includeS an unknown metallic sculpture, he added.
