3 kids charred to death

Chennai, July 30 (UNI) Three children were charred to death in a fire mishap at Denkanikottai Taluk in Krishnagiri District of Tamil Nadu yesterday.

Police said the children entered a hut, bolted it from inside to bake jackfruit seeds when the mishap occurred yesterday.

A spark from the stove sparked the fire and destroyed the entire hut, trapping the children inside. They died on the spot.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi expressed grief over the deaths and sanctioned an assistance of Rs 50,000 each to the victims' families, an official release said.
