Withdraw proposed increase in house tax: CPM
Hyderabad, Jul 29 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (Marxist) in Andhra Pradesh today demanded that the state government drop its move to increase house tax and water charges in municipalites and towns in the state.
Party State Secretary B V Raghavulu, in a statement here condemned the State government's proposal to increase the taxes.
He alleged that the government was commercialising the drinking water in the state by fixing meters to the drinking water pipe connections in the cities.
In the name of reforms, the state government was implementing the conditions of the World Bank resulting in heavy burden on the middle class and poor families in the state, he alleged.
