UP law and order better than Delhi, Mumbai, says Mulayam
Lucknow, July 29 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav today criticised the opposition parties for projecting the state's law and order condition in bad light ''ahead of the coming assembly elections.'' Talking at the conclusion of the two-day national seminar on food procesing here, Mr Yadav asserted the law and order situation in UP was better than that the National Capital and Mumbai.
''The misrepresentation on the law and order situation is being made by opposition parties ahead of the polls.'' ''Independent surveys conducted from time to time have eaffirmed the fact. These surveys were not conducted by me or Mr Amar Singh and were independent in nature,'' he pointed out.
Mr Yadav claimed his government was committed towards the well being of the common man. ''I do not worry about the hurdles being created by certain quarters'' he added.
The CM asserted that since India was an agricultural economy, the problems of farmers need to be addressed. ''It is unfortunate that even after the Prime Minister announced packages for farmers, suicides are continuing.'' Mr Yadav said countries which had realised the importance of agriculture sector had now become superpowers.
