Unitech Q1 net zooms 798%

New Delhi, July 29 (UNI) Real Estate company Unitech Ltd today said its net profit for Q1 2006-07 zoomed 798 per cent at Rs 74 crore as against Rs 8.24 crore in Q1 2005-06.

Speaking at a news conference here, Unitech Managing Director Sanjay Chandra also announced an increase of 114 per cent in the company income at Rs 306.21 crore for the quarter as compared to Rs 141.76 crore in the corresponding period last year.

''We are working on an exciting repertoire of projects and are confident of continuing this pace of growth in the days to come,'' he said, adding that Unitech is agressively entering into markets to expand its base.

Unitech recently entered into the hotel industry with the launch of 'Countyard by Marriott', and has bagged a mega-residential project deal of 340 acre at Express City, Noida.
