Two IUML activists get life imprisonment
Vatakara (Kerala), Jul 29: A sessions court here has sentenced two Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) activists to life imprisonment for murdering a Democratic Youth Federation of India leader five years ago.
Sessions Judge P Ubaid in his order yesterday sentenced Chamakkal Kuhabdulla and Kathotummal Ibrahim, the first and second accused in the case, after finding them guilty of murdering P V Santosh on January 13, 2001.
They were also ordered to pay Rs 10,000 each as penalty.
The court also awarded six months' rigorous imprisonment to fifth accused Komath Kunhabdulla, also an IUML worker, for giving his gun for shooting down the victim.
