Major rivers maintaining pressure on the embankments

Patna, July 29 (UNI) Almost all the major rivers, including the Gandak, Budhi Gandak, Bagmati Kosi, Ganga and Mahananda, in Bihar were in spate today, maintaining pressure at several places on the embankments.

Central Flood Control Cell sources said here that the Gandak had created pressure on its embankment at Gorhia, Singhi and Dhuniyatola in West Champaran district.

Constant vigil was being maintained on the embankments of the Budhi Gandak in Muzaffarpur and Champaran districts.

The breach in the embankment of the Bagmati at Dheng railway bridge was being repaired on war-footing, while the Kosi was constantly exerting pressure at some places on its embankment in West Champaran district.

The Ganga and Mahananda rivers were maintaining pressure at some places in Katihar district.
