IndusInd Bank starts online donation portion for NRI donors
Mumbai, July 29 (UNI) With a view to facilitate its NRI customers, the IndusInd Bank has started an online donation portal for Siddhi Vinayak temple in Mumbai besides, having plans to open more such donation portals for other major temples and trusts in the metro city.
Talking to UNI on the sidelines of announcement of first quarterly results of the bank here today, its MD&CEO, Bhaskar Ghose, said, ''The response to the portal, which was launched by our bank nearly a month ago, is tremendous.'' Encouraged by the massive response, we are planning to open more such portals in near future, he added.
The senior vice president of the bank, Varghese Thambi told UNI on the occasion, ''We are only facilitating our NRI customers through the portal. As per the facility, any customer of the bank can pay the donations to the temple by just visiting the website of the bank and debiting the money from one's savings account.
However the prasad to be given by the temple to the donor will be sent to him through post, he added. He said that everyday we are getting 10-12 donations through the portal which are then sent to the temple authorities. The total NRI deposits with the bank is Rs 1,500 crore at the moment.
