Independence Day to be witness of patriotic theme in Rajouri

Jammu, July 29 (UNI) The Independence Day would be witness of a cultural bonanza and patriotic theme which would be presented by school children on august 15, this year.

All the arrangements for celebration of I Independence day at Rajouri were finalised in a meeting of district and police officers under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner Rajouri.

It was decided in the meeting that sports stadium Kheora would be the venue of the main function where VIP will unfurl the Tricolour at 9 am sharp and take salute of the ceremonial parade comprising of the contingents of CRPF, JKP, JKAP, Auxiliary Police, NCC and school children.

The day will dawn with the playing of Shehnai Vadan arranged by district Information Centre Rajouri simultaneously at town hall, Gujjar Mandi Chowk and Jawaharnagar from 5 to 6 am.

The meeting constituted a reception committee with Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Assistant Commissioner Development, Executive Engineer R B, Tehsildar Rajouri, Tehsildar Headquarter and DSP Headquarter as members for making elaborate sitting arrangements for distinguished guests and general viewers.

Regarding power, drinking water, first-aid and sanitation it was decided that concerned departments would provide required services at the venue of main function and on rehearsal days. A fire tender will also be made available by Fire and emergency service department.
