Guj Election Commission denies media reports on CEC order

Ahmedabad, July 29 (UNI) The Gujarat Election Commission today clarified that the Central Election Commission has not given any orders to go for fresh enrollment or review of electoral rolls as was reported in a section of the media.

In a statement, the Chief Election Officer said the SEC had not recieved any such order. The reports had said there has been an increase in voters by eight percent in 182 Assembly constituencies.

He said the rolls are under revision now and the list will be published on August 18. If after this date, any inclusion or changes have to be made, eligible voters can still enroll them by filling up the forms.
