Grasim Industries Q1 net spurs 24.28 pc to Rs 312 crore

Mumbai, July 29 (UNI) Grasim Industries Ltd has posted a net profit of Rs 311.90 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 250.95 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005, a rise of 24.28 per cent.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income has increased from Rs 1618.77 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 1914.46 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

As per the consolidated results, the Group has posted a net profit (after minority's share) of Rs 435.25 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 296.08 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005. Total income has increased from Rs 2549.16 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 3245.13 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

Commenting on the business outlook for the current fiscal, the company said it is poised for a significant growth in the years ahead. This optimism emanates from capacity expansion plans, its leadership status in its key business segments, cost optimization measures, strategic planning and prudent financial management, it added.
