Gangster held under Arms Act in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, July 29 (UNI) Police today apprehended a gangster under the Arms Act for allegedly tranporting arms near Shah Alam area here .

Habib Moghal, who had been absconding for more than six months, was booked under the Arms Act and handed over to the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS).

Earlier, three of his gangmen had been arrested on the same grounds in January, but Habib had been absconding ever since.

Habib's movements were being monitored since then, police said.

Two local-made weapons, 17 catridges were recovered from his possession.

Today, he was nabbed when he had gone to to meet his wife in Dhagalwad area.

He had been jailed under Prevention of Anti-Social Activities Act (PASA) in 1998 for evading octroi, and assaulting men on duty.
