Four soldiers injured in militant attack
Srinagar, July 29 (UNI) Four army personnel were injured when militants attacked an army convoy on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway in south Kashmir today, a defence ministry spokesman said.
He told UNI that militants attacked an army convoy with automatic weapons and hand grenades on the highway at Chursoo, Awantipora, about 30 km from here.
Spokesman said three soldiers received bullet wounds while another was hit by a splinter. All the injured were admitted to hospital, he said adding they are out of danger.
A live grenade was found in the area which was later defused by the bomb disposal squad.
He said a massive search operation has been launched in the area to nab the militants, who escaped after the attack.
