Digvijay's surprise over MP's development natural: Chouhan

Bhopal, July 29 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said it was natural for Congress General Secretary Digvijay Singh to be surprised in view of the state's overall development during the BJP rule.

Mr Chouhan had written to Mr Singh that the trees he planted as Chief Minister did not bear fruit. However, his aim was to plant such trees that would provide fruits to public.

He asserted that public was well aware of the work done for infrastructural development, road, irrigation and power sectors during the two-and-half-year-old BJP rule.

Recently, Mr Singh had questioned the authenticity of development-related figures presented by the government saying that many of the development schemes were started during his tenure.

He had written to Mr Chouhan that someone else was enjoying the fruits of trees planted by him.

In his reply, Mr Chouhan said it was natural for the former CM to be surprised by the development that took place in the past two-and-half years, as no development took place during the 10-year-old Congress rule.

He added that the details of development works were presented in the Vidhan Sabha and as such it was wrong to say the figures were an attemp to mislead public.
