DDA's next draw for MIG/HIG flats in Jan next, LIG this Sep

New Delhi, July 29 (UNI) After reverting to the earlier system of allotment of Middle Income Group and High Income Group by draw of lots, Delhi Development Authority will conduct the next draw/allotment of MIG/HIG flats in January next year.

The next draw for Low Income Group would expected in September this year, official sources said.

About 1,400 HIG, 1,700 MIG and more than 630 LIG flats -- most of them situated in Rohini, Narela, Dwarka, Shalimar Bagh and Kalyan Vihar -- were available for allotment.

The cost of the flats was fixed by the authority on the basis of plinth area, locality and category.

The cost was charged as applicable on the date of issue of demand-cum-allotment letter.

Earlier, it had been decided that MIG/HIG flats would be alloted through open auctions to the highest bidder in order to generate more revenue that could fund other projects of the authority, especially the poor.

However, this move was abandoned due to pressure from elected members in DDA, who were said to have acted to protect the interest of the poor.
