Court defers Pravin Mahajan's bail plea till Aug 1

Mumbai, July 29: A local court here today deferred the bail plea of Pravin Mahajan, accused of killing his elder brother and BJP leader Pramod Mahajan, till August one.

The bail plea came up during the day for hearing before additional session judge Abhay Thipsy who adjourned the hearing following prosecution sought time to file a reply.

Pravin had earlier filed a bail plea in the session court at Mazagon, after he was chargesheeted by a local court here.

In the bail plea, Pravin had argued that prima facie material were not available against him and this was a fit case for the bail. The court was also told that he would abide by all the terms and condition of the bail and would not make any attempt to hamper the invesigation or tamper with the evidences, if released on bail.

Pravin is at present lodged at Arthur road jail after he was arrested by police for allegedly killing his brother Pramod Mahajan at his Worli residence few months back.
