Bomb explosion kills two, injures 8 in Bihar

Gaya, July 29 (UNI) At least two people were killed and eight others injured when a powerful bomb exploded in a Kolkata-bound luxury bus this evening near Mayapur village under Barasatti police station of Gaya district.

District Police Superintendent Amit Kumar Jain said the explosive was kept in the bus in the guise of luggage and the roof of the bus, with 27 passengers on board from Guruasthan, was blown off after the bomb went off.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar condemned the ghastly act and ordered an inquiry into the incident. He also asked Chief Secretary G S Kang to arrange proper treatment for the injured and assured to pay adequate compensation to next of kin of the deceased as well as the injured.
