"Bharat Rekha In America", a Study of Hindu Temples releases in US

Washington, July 29 (UNI) "Bharat Rekha In America" a well designed Coffee Table Book containing details of 53 Hindu Temples in 33 States of US with attractive multi coloured photographs and authored by K Panchapakesan was released on Wednesday by Republican Congressman, Joe Wilson at the Cannon House Building, Capitol Hill.

Present on the occasion were Mr Venu Rajamony, Minister (Press, Information and Culture) of the Indian Embassy, Chairpersons of Hindu Temples of the Trisate, and other invitees.

In his welcome address, the author Panchapakesan who is visiting US for the Book Launch, highlighted the two objectives of the Book.

The first is to serve the purpose of a Directory of Hindu Temples of US detailing information on the location of various temples, the history behind the construction, salient features, future plans, etc.

The other objective, he said, event-is to help strengthen the socio-cultural bridge between the Peoples of US and India, especially the Indian Americans and the Resident Indians of India.

He mentioned that the Book had taken about three years for preparation and thanked Dr Shekhar Challa an eminent Indian American doctor and President of the Publishing Company, Kansas Medical Publishing for sponsoring the Book.
