140 colleges in AP on NAAC rolls: Director

Visakhapatnam, July 29 (UNI) The Banglore-based National Assessment and Accrediation Council (NAAC) Director prof V S Prasad today stressed the need to set up more colleges to maintain quality education.

Speaking after inaugurating the two-day workshop on 'Preparation for Degree Colleges in the NAAC Assessment' here, he said while 29 colleges, affailated to Andhra University were accredited to NAAC, 140 colleges in Andhra Pradesh and 2,900 colleges across the country were on the NAAC rolls.

The workshop was conducted by APSCHE with financial support from the NAAC, Bangalore and in collaboration with UGC- Academic Staff College, Andhra Univesity.
