US-based GPRI ties-up with Kemrock in Gujarat

Vadodara, July 28 (UNI) US-based Gergia-Pacific Resins Inc (GPRI) and Vadodara's Kemrock Industries and Exports (KIEL) today tied-up to manufacture and supply thermo-setting resins to a variety of industrial markets in India and other South-East Asian countries.

Announcing the launching of the joint venture company - Georgia-Pacific Kemrock International Private Limited (GPKIPL) at the KIEL premises at Asoj, GPRI vice-president Peter Williams said his company had licensed its phenolic resins technology to Kemrock for the composites, coated abrasives and foundry markets.

Under the mutual investment agreement, the products would be manufactured by the Kemrock Industries at its facility at Asoj under Waghodia taluka in Vadodara district, and distributed by their new company GPKIPL in India, Sri Lanka, Saudi Arabia, Bangladesh, Bahrain, United Arab Emirates and Kuwait.

The joint venture would also offer non-phenolic resins like polyesters, vinylesters and epoxies manufactured by the Kemrock Industries, one of India's leading manufacturers of high-performance reinforced thermoset composites.

At the Asoj plant site, Mr Williams told mediapersons that he hoped GPRI, which is a subsidiary of dollar 80 billion Georgia-Pacific Corporation (GPC), the global leader in paper and forest products industry, would further expand its business in the rapidly expanding Indian and regional markets, following today's mutual investment agreement with Kemrock.

Kemrock Chairman and Managing Director Kalpesh Patel said his company was excited about this mutual investment with Georgia-Pacific Resins--a recognised technology leader. ''This relationship will help Kemrock expand its reach into specialty industrial markets and realise its vision of being a one-stop customised composites solution for India and nearby regions,'' he added.
