Chandigarh, Jul 28: Compensation would be given to the next kin of those who had lost their lives or were injured in the Gulf War of 1990-91 by the special commission constituted by the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

While stating this, an official spokesman for the Haryana government said families which had not been given compensation, could contact the District Revenue Officer of the district concerned and submit claim.

He said after verification of antecedents, these would be forwarded to the United Nations Security Council for compensation.

He said till date, one lakh Indians had received compensation but 8615 claimants remained deprived of it due to change of postal address.

He said in case there was any such person who had not submitted the claim so far could do so by September 30 as thereafter, no such claim would be entertained.
