Tulshi dam overflows in Kolhapur

Kolhapur, July 28 (UNI) Tulshi irrigation dam in the district has started overflowing following heavy regions in the area for the last few days.

Two flood gates of the dam were opened yesterday and 1,012 cusecs of water was discharged, irrigation department today said.

Sources said the Radhanagari dam, which is one of the main drinking water reserouces of Kolhapur, was already filled to its capacity on July 23 and has been discharging water in the river bed.

Major irrigation dam Dudhganga is about 71 per cent full, while Warna is filled upto 84 per cent of its capacity, sources added.
