Thane Dist villages near Bhatsa dam put on alert
Thane, July 28 (UNI) With the water-level in the Bhatsa dam reaching the dangerous mark and continues to rise, the Thane district administration has asked the villagers to stay alert.
The district administration took the decision late this evening following the release of excess water from the dam, as heavy downpour continued in the catchment area. Approximately, one meter of water is likley to be released from the dam now, the district headquarter sources said.
The sources said the villages in the talukas of Bhiwandi, Wada, Shahapur and Kalyan have been put on alert and the citizens have been asked to be on guard.
