Six killed in road mishap in AP

Vijayawada, July 28 (UNI) Six people were killed and two injured when a lorry carrying ice blocks overturned at Rangayya Apparaopet near Hanuman junction today.

Police said the mishap occurred when the lorry while taking a curve skidded off the road and overturned after falling into a tank.

Eight labourers were travelling on top of the lorry.

When five people died on the spot, the other succumbed to injuries on the way to hospital.

The deceased were identified as K Ganga Raju, D Raju, V David, D Sarweswara Rao, G Lakshman Rao and Chinna Rao all from Akivedu in west Godavari district, police said. The injured were admitted to University General Hospital, police said.
