Seninar on linking North Eastarn Libraries
Aizawl, Jul 28: With the aim to link all the important libraries across the NE, Information and Library Network Centre (INFLIBNET) would be organising a mega conference on Promotion of libary Automation and Networking in North East Region (PLANNER) here on December nine.
The two-day conference, which aims to provide platform for the library professionals in NE region to discuss various emerging issues in the field of library and information science, which will connect people to each other by digital way.
Organising committee said the conference will give opportunity to deliberate on concept of digtilisation, preservation and access to the resources among the professionals.
Experts and professionals including from library and information science, Information Technology (IT) and knowledge workers, policy makers, educationist, IT service providers and vendors and electronic publishing agencies.
INFLIBNET has been working since a decade in bringing IT culture in university libraries by providing substantial grants for infrstructure development and training manpower for automation and networking.
Recently, INFLIBNET launched two nationwide ambitious projects of E-Journals Consortium and UGC-INFONET with aim to provide full text peer reviewed E-Journals to academic community across the country at free of cost.
