Rupee weak by nine paise closes at 46.68/69/USD

Mumbai, July 28 (UNI) Indian Rupee today grew weak by nine paise to close at 46.68/69 per US dollar, as compared to the previous close of 46.61 per US dollar, said a trader in the money market.

Rupee earlier opened at 46.77/78 per US Dollar and in the mid-morning session traded at 46.55/56/USD.

RBI today fixed the reference rate at Rs 46.56/USD, as compared to the previous rate of 46.64 per USD.

The six-month forward premia was flat at 1.12 per cent and the one year forward premia was also up at 1.19 per cent.

However, rupee performed well against other currencies, against euro it was up at Rs 59.11 (59.34), against pound sterling it was down at Rs 86.59 (86.75) and against yen it was down at Rs 40.33 (40.36).
