Rains likely to occur within few hours: MET officials

Kolkata, Jul 28 (UNI) After a spell of dry weather, Kolkatans received a few bouts of rain today brigning in the much-needed respite.

Though the rains were short-lived, it slashed down the temperature by a couple of degrees which was a great relief for the people fighting the unbearable heat.

Weathermen said there are bright chances of heavy downpour in the next few hours.

There was also a great respite from the humidity that came down to 92 per cent from 99 per cent.

Today's highest temperature was 34.5 degrees Celsius and the lowest 27 degrees Celsius.
