Nicki Shaw misses series against India, Laura Marsh gets nod

London, July 28 (UNI) England eves suffered a jolt even before a single ball is bowled in their ODI series against India with medium-pacer Nicki Shaw ruled out of the contest with an injured right knee.

The Nottinghamshire pacer damaged her ligament in the right knee during the final round of matches in the women's County Championships.

England has pencilled in Sussex pacer Laura Marsh as the replacement for Shaw, who has played in 32 one-dayers, taking 14 wickets.

Mithali Raj leads the Indian squad, with Jhulan Goswami as her deputy.

The first ODI is scheduled at the Lord's on August 14, followed by matches at Shenly CC (August 17(, Arundel (August 19) and the last two at Hampshire Rose Bowl on August 24 and 25.
