National Golf Academy to come up in Andhra Pradesh
Hyderabad, July 28 (UNI) In a bid to give fillip to the game, the Andhra Pradesh government has proposed to set up a state-of-the-art national golf academy under public-private partnership here.
According to official sources here, the state government had prepared preliminary proposals to set up the academy on 200 acre of land at Tomukunta of the Ranga reddy District.
Delhi Golf Academy Director of Constructions Karan Bindra and three golf players visited the sports school located in 250 acre of land at Tumkunta along with the state officials concerned, recently.
The team identified 200 acre of land at sports school which would be suitable for constructing the academy. The government was also interested in providing 120 of the 200 acre to set up the academy with state-of-the-art technology and facilities.
The government would provide land free of cost and develop the area.
Several private companies had come forward to establish the academy. It would take some time to finalise the companies to realise the dreams of budding golf players in the country, they added.
