National Fertilizers Q1 net rises 66 pc

Mumbai, July 28 (UNI) National Fertilizers Ltd (NFL) has posted a growth of 66.70 per cent in its net profit at Rs 24.66 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, as compared with Rs 14.79 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income has increased from Rs 693.78 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005 to Rs 839.60 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006.

NFL, promoted by the Government of India in 1974 to set up fuel oil-based urea plants in Haryana and Punjab, has the second largest capacity of urea in the country after IFFCO. Its facilities are located in the high-demand areas of Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.
