MP to set up Temple Board to manage assets
Bhopal, July 28 (UNI) The Madhya Pradesh government is considering to set up a Shrines Development Board for streamlining the asset management of temples.
In the wake of Madhya Pradesh High Court directive, a draft bill has been prepared to discourage misuse of temple assets through efficient management.
The draft of the Madhya Pradesh Devasthan Prabandhan Bill was discussed at a high-level meeting chaired by Chief Minister S S Chouhan here yesterday.
The bill provides for setting up Shrines Development Board at state-level and to constitute Devasthan Management Committees at district and tahsil-level with full autonomy.
As many as 15,927 temples in Madhya Pradesh are geting financial assistance from the state government, official sources said.
