Mother, daughter arrested for forcing woman to convert

Jabalpur, July 28 (UNI) A woman and her daughter were arrested on the charge of holding a 55-year-old woman captive and forcing her to undergo conversion, police said today.

After some social workers and Dharamsena activists informed police that Chandrika Sharma and her daughter Radhika were holding Ms Shashkaran Tripathi captive and forcing her to convert, police reached their house and got Ms Tripathi released yesterday.

A criminal case has been registered against Chandrika and Radhika.

Police said Ms Tripathi's husband and two sons had died.

Ms Tripathi alleged that the duo held her captive after her younger son's death with an intention to take her wealth and were forcing her to undergo conversion.
