Mizoram Govt opens door for IT entrepreneurs
Aizawl, July 28 (UNI) The Mizoram government has given a welcome break to entreprenuers in the area of information technology by inviting expression of interest for implementing various new projects in the state.
The information technology department of the state today organised a meeting with different organisations associated with information and communication technology, operating in both private and public sectors.
Industries Secretary and Director Yogoraja said the meeting was organised in order to seek ideas and suggestions from the organisations, so that the department can be of more help to them.
The meeting was attended by representatives from the Computer Associated Industries of Mizoram (CAIM), Mizoram Electronic Service Association (MESA), Mizoram Computer Society (MCS), Department of Electronic Accreditation of Computer Courses (DoEACC) Aizawl Centre and Zoram Electronics and Industrial Development Corporation (ZENICS).
During the meeting, several organisations echoed that the government should show preference to local computer dealers by purchasing equipments from them and not from outside the state.
They added the government should seek ways to subsidise tools that were necessary for their trade while DoEACC said the government should prepare recruitment rules for workers in ICT-related government jobs which the state is yet to have.
