Merck Q2 net sees a jump of 248 pc

Mumbai, July 28 (UNI) Pharma major Merck has posted a net profit of Rs 84.23 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as compared to Rs 24.23 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005, a jump of 247.62 per cent.

Announcing the results, the company said its total income (net of excise) is Rs 87.01 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as against Rs 114.89 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2005.

The sale of Life Science&Analytics Business excluding Bulk Drugs business has been effective April 01, 2006, therefore the figures for the previous quarter / half year are not comparable.
