Medical institutions set apart seats for govt quota: Minister
Chennai, July 28 (UNI) Self-financing medical and para-medical institutions in Tamil Nadu have agreed to set apart seats for government quota on the lines of self-financing engineering colleges, Health Minister K K S S R Ramachandran told the State Assembly today.
Making a suo motu statement in the House, he said, thanks to the efforts by Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, non-minority and minority institutions have offered 65 per cent and 50 per cent of seats respectively for government quota for admission during this academic year.
The managements could fill up the remaining 35 per cent of seats in respect of non-minority and 50 per cent in respect of minority institutions, he said.
The government had already a similar amicable agreement with self- financing minority and non-minority engineering colleges in the state for this academic year, the Minister added.
