Love has no barrier, be it age or sex

Krishnagar, July 28: When love blooms, sex of a person cannot be any deterrent.

They were deeply in love with each other and nothing could prevent them from getting married. But the only difference is that both husband and wife belong to fairer sex.

Defying traditions, two teenaged girls last night got married under Chakdaha police station, but they adhered to the tradition of smearing vermillion and putting conch bangles.

Seventeen-year old Priya Chakraborty was the husband, while 19-year-old Purnima Sarkar was the wife.

Local people in the area started beating the girls when they learnt of the incident.

Police arrived on the spot in time to save the girls from being beaten but both girls stood their ground and openly declared their love for each other.

Purnima says, '' I love her(Priya) and cannot live without her. '' Both the girls are from poor background.

However, police were completely caught unaware and said a case could not be filed. They were waiting for the parents of the two girls to take them home.
