K'taka orders survey of 'rich' temples

Bangalore, July 28 (UNI) The Karnataka Government has ordered a survey of 'rich' temples to get an update on its income, Muzrai Minister B Nagaraj Shetty informed today.

Talking to reporters here, he said these temples would be asked to adopt small temples in order to develop them.

He also said that the Government planned to amend the Muzrai Act after getting a report from the Justice Rama Jois Committee. It would be submitting its report within the next three months, he added.

Mr Shetty, who also holds the Fisheries portfolio, said the government intended to revive the Karnataka Fisheries Development Corporation to give a boost to fisheries in the state. It had also sanctioned Rs two crore to develop inland fisheries, he added.
